Gus & Tony`s Pizza & Steakhouse in Waukon

Found this place on Yelp and oh boy was it amazing!!! They cook the chicken to order so there is a little bit of a wait.The server was so funny we had a good time conversing with him while we waited.The chicken breading has a tiny kick to it and was just perfect. Potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, and mac & cheese were all so delicious!Can't wait to go back and order more goodies when in KC.

This place is awesome!!! Fried green tomatoes are amazing and the fried chicken is crispy, tasty and not super greasy. Tried this place the first time and the manager was extremely friendly and accommodating as the dining room was still closed because of covid19. Highly recommend this place. Every time the service has been fast and friendly. Great place, good food, fair pricing.

2nd time coming here and wow- it is SOgood. We were immediately greeted by literally every member of the staff with a warm welcome. Our server was quick and efficient, didn’t bother us much but checked on us periodically, and when she did she kept her distance (good ol’ COVID.) Our food came out SO fast and was hot hot HOT. We were so confused as to why we don’t eat here weekly. We will start now!

The food and service as always good. I love their Mac n cheese and the coleslaw. Family enjoys the chicken. We tried the fried pickles for the first time today. If you have room the pecan pie is delish. I love that we were asked if we needed straws or if we wanted to save the turtles. They also play really good music in the dining rooms. Added bonus: clean bathrooms

Good food. I visited on a Wednesday lunch hour. No wait when I arrived but it was full when I left. Kaitlyn took care of me at the counter and she was great. I ordered the 5-piece wing special with beans and fried okra. That was all very good but I was still hungry. I then ordered a leg, a thigh, and a Mac and cheese from the a la carte menu. All were very good and I was able to fill up and, with the hot sauce, achieve a nice Nashville-hot burn to melt my face. Next time I would probably skip the wings and simply go straight to the bigger pieces.

I really enjoy this place. The fried chicken is great. It is nice and spicy. It isnt super spicy but it is nice. For many it might be too spicy. For a few it won't be spicy at all. Moat will think it is an appropriate amount of spicinessBeer selection is kind of weak, but somehow seems fitting and appropriate to the vibe. This is part of a chain but it's the only one in the metro.

I’ve eaten here three times in about a month now...I really like the chicken. I definitely recommend the dark meat offerings which have been juicy and fresh tasting. The breast was good but doesn’t hold the hot sauce flavor as well. I kinda wish it was a tad spicier but then again, I do like spicy food. Only reason it’s not 5 stars, the sides. The mac and cheese is decent but nothing to write home about. The fries always seem like they need 30 seconds longer in the fryer. Ignore the sides, come for the chicken. No complaints about the service so far.

Chicken has a good flavor but was a little dry. The mac n cheese was very good. Potato salad needed a little more mustard and salt. And the greens were tender but needed alot more flavor than just bacon. Maybe some of the seasonings from the chicken could be added to the greens.I will try it again.

Gus's is amazing. It's great how this place maintains the same standards as the original location. My Uncle loved it and he's been to the original location. Had to get him a gift card here. Staff is great, food's always fresh even when using delivery app. Always satisfies my hunger for chicken. The open kitchen gives me a send of trust, and definitely go here under the current circumstances with COVID - 19. Keep up the good work guys!
